Welcome to my blog. In case you don’t know already I’m Kevin Newell, the owner and founder of Humane Wildlife Solutions which is at this moment Europe’s only multi award winning, ethical, environmentally friendly, Vegan alternative to ‘pest’ control.
Yes that’s right, a VEGAN business! Shocked at the millions of wild lives that are killed by pest controllers each year, I wanted to offer people a real alternative to current lethal methods and guess what – it actually works! I have been saving wildlife for over 12 years now and I am not looking to stop any time soon.
I’ll be using this blog to talk about the work I do, campaigns I will run, successes the business has had and everything wildlife related, from personal experiences to wildlife news.
I have been a vegan for over 26 years and when I founded Humane Wildlife Solutions (HWS) I wanted it to be run with my strict vegan views. It’s this deep love for the natural world which led me to want to help wildlife when it comes into conflict with humans. It’s this approach which makes HWS truly unique – being completely non lethal for all species I work with, from rats and pigeons right down to wasps and ants, I have found ways to resolve conflicts for these and many more species.
I don’t just do site visits or consultations but research new and intuitive ways to work with wildlife and I do this by understanding the species I work with. Along with this, I actively campaign on many levels to help wildlife, be it supporting a local wildlife campaign, donating to wildlife rescues or helping with government consultations.
My work is to be there and help wildlife in any way I can so we can understand and appreciate them for the wonderful creatures they are.
